Technology Surcharge Fee Increase

As part of the State of RI’s Fiscal Year 2026 Budget, the “Technology Surcharge” has been increased from $2.50 to $3.50, effective July 1, 2025. This fee is charged in all DMV transactions. To read corresponding budget article, click here.

Real ID
