DMV reservations scheduled for the week of February 23 - February 27 will be honored through the month of March.
If you had a road test scheduled between February 23 - February 25, DMV staff will contact you by the end of this week to reschedule.
Expiration Date Extensions Due to February Blizzard
Due to the State of Emergency declared by Governor Daniel J. McKee following the February 22–23, 2026 blizzard, the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles is extending certain expiration dates.
New Expiration Date: March 31, 2026
The following are extended:
Driver’s licenses, permits, and identification cards that were set to expire between February 1, 2026 and February 28, 2026. This extension does not include non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses or commercial learner’s permits.
Vehicle registrations that were set to expire on February 28, 2026.
Inspection stickers that were set to expire on February 28, 2026.
Disability parking placards that were set to expire between February 1, 2026 and February 28, 2026.
If your expiration date falls within the ranges listed above, it has been extended to March 31, 2026.
