Starting from the Curb or Making a Safe Lane Change

1. Is the lane clear?
2. Signal your intent with sufficient time to warn other motorists of your (intent).
3. Check your mirrors and look over your shoulder to make sure the blind spots of the mirrors are clear and no other vehicle has entered your intended path.
